A MID-LIFE
MINDSET COACH

I want to be the resource for women I wish had been there for me!

That, in a nutshell, is what motivated me to better understand my purpose in life which is to empower you to be BRAVE so you can ADAPT and then THRIVE.

I am a certified health coach and a certified life coach with a background in advising and fitness. I am an academic advisor at the University of Minnesota, helping graduate students complete their degree on time.  I was a certified personal trainer, helping people of all ages navigate a variety of health concerns.

I am an avid volleyball player and hockey fan. I love traveling and being on the water.  I value self-reliance, collaboration, innovation, and adventure. Above all else, I value time (mine and my client’s) and my family.

Let me share with you my background and my philosophy.

WHY I BECAME A COACH

When I turned 48, my son was about to graduate high school, my job was less than satisfying, and menopause was knocking at the door. Changes were happening way too fast and a whoa-is-me mindset took hold. Worst of all, I saw age 50 not as a new chapter, but as the end of the story for the first half of my life. I was consumed with fear. I was too young to be this old!

I needed to make some changes so I put an end to my pity party and engaged the learner within myself. I spent hours Googling, reading books, listening to podcasts, and watching webinars. Just when I needed it most, the Universe presented me with a gift of purpose. An ad for a life coaching certification program popped up on Facebook. And just like that, my years of wandering through this world made sense.

Learning the science behind coaching while navigating my chaos gave me a wonderful new perspective on mid-life. I now believe that mid-life is an opportunity to reinvent ourselves! It's chaotic and overwhelming, for sure. But, it's as if the Universe is forcing us to prepare for the next chapter of our life. I couldn’t see that at first because I was alone and had no one to hold my hand and tell me that I was brave, that I could adapt, and that I would eventually thrive.

Give me your hand, my friend…I’m here for you!

AND WHAT ABOUT YOU?

Mid-life chaos, as I prefer to call it, is thanks to too much change happening at once.

Your Body – The aging process is not for the faint of heart. The signs of aging can be seen on your skin, in your muscle structure, around your midsection…it’s like you’ve been invaded by an alien!

But, you have the opportunity to address your habits – the ones you need to add and the ones you need to stop. Maybe it’s time to reduce your alcohol consumption or increase your activity level.

Your Home Life – Family dynamics change as our children graduate from high school and leave home to spread their wings. An empty nest can be very disconcerting!

But, you have the opportunity to reassess your surroundings. Maybe it’s time to change your primary residence or add a secondary one. How about a new hobby to occupy your time?

Your Career and Relationships – Is this as good as it’s going to get? That’s a commonly asked question when you admit to yourself that your career or relationships are draining you more than they are sustaining you.

But, you get the opportunity to align your dreams with your reality. Now is a great time to get clear on your goals and values, and to set new boundaries.

What if you changed the narrative about the chaos you are experiencing? Could you maybe convert some of your chaos into an opportunity to get clear on your purpose or your dreams?

I can’t be the only one who wants to get to retirement feeling fulfilled and accomplished.

Navigating your chaos can be overwhelming. My purpose is to help women just like you get there way faster than I did. Let's talk!
